Books, films and publications that were once banned by the apartheid regime in South Africa will be on display until 5 October as the University of Cape Town (UCT) marks Banned Books Week.
One of the most important artworks in UCT’s collection, the Sarah Baartman sculpture by Willie Bester, has been exhibited alongside a sound installation featuring a poem by Diana Ferrus, images and other artwork in an exhibition entitled Sarah ‘Saartjie’ Baartman, A Call to Respond.
Dr Miriam Peña Pimentel from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) led a detailed discussion on models used in Mexico to develop a teaching program in Digital Humanities.
Health Sciences Library will be running a Research Series starting on 21 September 2018 and will run until November. The sessions will be most applicable to postgraduate students, their supervisors and academics.
