UCT Libraries remains closed and continues as a comprehensive Virtual Library Service due to the continued lockdown status of UCT and completion of the 2020 academic year using remote teaching. With a few exceptions identified in support of the UCT Return to Research Plan, the physical reopening of UCT Libraries will now coincide on the academic calendar with the resumption of contact teaching and learning.
The role of the library is to provide support in the researcher’s application for an NRF rating which includes providing bibliometric and other relevant assistance in support of the application.The document attached outlines the support available from UCT Libraries to assist with NRF rating applications.
Printing on campus is now available in the locations listed below (subject to these facilities being open and available for access). Please adhere to the screening processes at these facilities and take the necessary safety precautions.

Other print options
You can email firstname.lastname@example.org and a Managed Print Services representative will contact you to arrange for your work to be printed at a campus print room. Materials can also be emailed to the print room for printing. Collection and/or delivery can be arranged.
Payment for printing
For students, payment can be made via online EFT based on the quote issued, or the cost can be deducted from your student card account.
For staff, printing costs can be billed against your department cost & fund number on the printing requisition issued, or payment can be made via online EFT based on the quote issued.

In light of the library closure due to COVID-19 and to help you manage your library loans, all library material currently on loan will be renewed until further notice. All fines on overdue materials will be waived.
However, should you wish to return your books, a central UCT Libraries book drop has been installed at Burnage, adjacent to Leo Marquard Hall. The dropbox is walking distance from the Jamie shuttle stop at Tugwell and Leo Marquard residence.
